Well, I don’t really know what got me into this speaker-building thing, but like everyone else I think I’m hooked. I started searching on the Internet for I don’t know how long for information about building some speakers. I am really into wood working so this would be a piece of cake. After several weeks of reading and learning and getting confused I decided to build. I had picked out the box design I liked and the drivers, but soon realized that you can’t just build a pretty little box and plug in some cool drivers and get something worth listening too. They had to go and throw capacitors and resistores in the mix to mess everything up. This is about the time I came across Dave Tenney’s web site . This was a leap of faith for me having never built a set of speakers before, so I e-mailed Dave Tenney. I was about to fall back on the D3's because of all that I had heard, but Dave said just what I wanted to hear. My heart was now set on the Dayton 8s. |
